Welcome to the end of the semester (my first) at Austin Peay. I have to tell you that this is only the second semester in eight years that I have not also been struggling right along with you on final papers, exams and class scheduling. I know exactly how you are feeling right now. Let’s wrap this up and put a bow on it!
I thought you should know that things are shaping up for the Adult and Nontraditional Student Center and so I hope you will visit us this summer and continue to visit or start to visit in the Fall. We plan to change hours to 8:00am – 6:00pm this Fall and will be open as much as staffing allows this summer. If you are studying this summer, check our website weekly for hours that you can count on. I will continue to post them at the top of the main page. I hope those of you who are distance learners will try to make it to a program occasionally and follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and submit ideas for this blog.
Here is a good photo of what the center is like! Christy and Victor, two regular center studiers, discovered last week that putting the TV on Game show network was disastrous for their study routine, and are now racing to catch up while the TV is safely on NCIS (they have seen every episode). For those of you who need quiet study, we are thinking of you. On Study Day, this Thursday, we will ban the three T’s. That is no Television, no talking and no telephoning. So come on in whisper if you need something and get your head around your studies. 8:00am to 4:30pm Thursday May 2nd.
Finally, I am proud to announce that I will be advising the Non-Traditional Student Society for the upcoming year and look forward to partnering the center with the student organization, enhancing everyone’s opportunity at APSU.
OK, Study hard…. but not too hard.
